Angel Barn (Sleeps 6)

Magic, angel dust and simple hard work have all helped to transform this 15th century barn into an amazing eco self-catering holiday retreat for 6 guests. In a hidden corner between the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Lake District, the interiors are a fantastic mix of old and new.

Angel Barn sleeps 6. The three en-suite superking / kingsize bedrooms are all about indulgence with outrageously comfy beds, fantastic fabrics, lush wallpaper, beautiful furniture and very posh eco paint

The sitting room is designed for maximum lounging with luxurious sofas, upholstered in British wool by Abraham Moon. You can chill out in front of the cosy woodburner in winter or open the doors to the patio in the heat of the summer.  A secret TV & DVD in the Georgian corner cupboard shuts out interference from the rest of the world for those who really wish to escape but free superfast WiFi, bluetooth speaker & DAB radio are ready for those who want to stay connected or listen to some tunes.

The handmade kitchen will bring the best out of all budding chefs with everything you need to conjure up fantastic culinary delights. A monster fridge freezer with ice machine, Rangemaster cooker, dishwasher and an array of gadgets allow you to prepare even the largest feast. The double farmhouse tables are often set up by guests for posh dinner parties when the champagne and conversation flow well into the night, or why not hire a private chef for an evening? You'll be greeted with a champagne welcome hamper brimming with local goodies and home made treats, a great start to your holiday.

Spoil yourselves outside with an outdoor sofa breakfast on the decking, a candlit dinner on the dining patio or relax in the wood fired hot tub, listening to the gentle sounds of nature as nightime falls and stargazing commences.

Dogs are very welcome at Angel Barn the garden is enclosed and there's plenty of space to wander. We just ask that if they like to sit on the sofa then bring their favourite rugs with them, please don't allow them on the bed or leave them unsupervised in the cottage whilst you go out. We can pop up a stair gate up for you if they usually stay downstairs.  All 3 of our village pubs are dog friendly so your pooch can eat out with you in style. It's £25 per dog and they will be welcomed with a doggie hamper with Sir Woofchester treats, made in Cumbria, spare bowls and towels.

A great hideaway from
the hustle and bustle

This grade two listed building shows off its ancient features whilst welcoming the new, eclectic and modern. A great hideaway, guests feel happy to spend all day relaxing inside or a luxurious place to come back to after a hard day on the fells, or in the pub.

The master room is spacious in both bedroom and bathroom.  The super kingsize four poster bed has been hand crafted by Richard, using the original cow stalls from the barn.  Inside the en-suite there's a unique basin stand also made by Richard using a chainsaw!, along with a double ended bath with super fell view and extra large shower.

The middle bedroom, also know as the owl room, with an antique church pew front as an oversized headboard, can be transformed from a super kingsize bed to twin beds on request.  Inside the en-suite shower room you'll find fluffy towels & soft bath robes, sparkling taps, underfloor heating and fresh green wallpaper.

The bedroom at the end of the Barn has a metal-framed kingsize bed topped with soft fur throws and cushions, original beams show off the high ceilings.  The en-suite shower room has striking purple wallpaper, a lovely contrast to the calming Farrow and Ball colours of the bedroom.

Angel Barn sits within the Yorkshire Dales National Park and boasts views in all directions; you can see over the upper Lune and Eden valleys, as far as Blencathra in the Northern Lakes and not forgetting the magnificent Howgill Fells - described as giant sleeping elephants.

You can walk, run, bike or ride and have lots of adventures straight from the doorstep, using the OS Maps provided.  Explore the local nooks and crannies, views and vistas, houses and castles.

During your stay take a peak inside our Shed Shop, filled with handmade arts and crafts and local foodie treats created by ourselves, friends and family. It's an honesty shop which you can access anytime of day, using the key code provided in Angel Barn.
